MES happenings 🤩

6th graders worked on team building and relationship building with a cup challenge during their brain break in Mrs. Flemming's reading class!

A shoutout to our 8th graders who participated in a "No Phone Lunch" today! It was fun to see students putting their phones aside, engaging in conversations, and simply enjoying each other's company.

Today is a milestone in Madison's EdRising program, we needed a bus for the first time! We have 20 students learning at Augustana today. Students are learning about teamwork, problem-solving skills, the purpose of schools in society, the Circle of Courage, and regulation.

To wrap up their physical fitness unit, 7th grade students had the opportunity to spend some time in the high school weight room, where they explored fitness equipment and learned more about strength training and healthy habits.

On their last day of art, 7th grade students enjoyed a "Pop Party" and got to use the mugs they crafted throughout the quarter. It was a fun way to celebrate their hard work while seeing their artistic vision come to life in a practical and memorable way.

Middle School students and staff celebrated the end of the 1st quarter with a friendly "Minute to Win It" competition between SEL groups. Students were also reminded that the start of the second quarter is a chance to reset, set new goals, and make positive changes!

Students in Mrs. Palli reached their AR goal and earned their ticket into the September AR Party. A huge thank you to Classic Corner for the personal pan pizzas. READING ROCKS in 3rd grade!

Sixth grade students explored rocks and minerals in Minecraft while learning to identify different types of rocks, recognize mineral properties, and connect what they see in the virtual world to real-world Earth science. By combining creativity and technology, students brought their science learning to life! ⛏️🧱

MHS Student Council is at USF this morning for the Big Sioux Regional workshop. They are learning about leadership and finding their voice!

The 7th and 8th grade football season came to an end on Tuesday. Both teams continued to improve throughout the year and were competitive every time they took the field. One of the season's biggest highlights was the chance to play in the Dakota Dome, which was a great experience and a memorable opportunity for our players. The coaches are proud of the hard work, dedication, and teamwork these athletes showed all season long and look forward to seeing their continued growth in the years ahead. 🏈

The 7th and 8th grade volleyball season came to an end on Thursday. The girls had a fantastic season and showed a lot of growth and improvement from start to finish. Their hard work paid off in many ways, including an exciting tournament championship for the 8th grade team at the Madison Tournament. Congratulations to all of our players and coaches on a great season! 🏐
