The 7th and 8th grade volleyball season came to an end on Thursday. The girls had a fantastic season and showed a lot of growth and improvement from start to finish. Their hard work paid off in many ways, including an exciting tournament championship for the 8th grade team at the Madison Tournament. Congratulations to all of our players and coaches on a great season! 🏐

Purple was the color of the day at Madison Middle School on Thursday as students and staff came together to support MMS student Maci and raise awareness for epilepsy. It was a simple but meaningful way to show that Maci has a strong school community cheering her on every step of the way. 💜

7th grade students are exploring their “Through My Eyes” art project by drawing their own eyes using photographs as references! Along the way, they’re learning how to use grids to draw accurately, exploring different drawing pencils and tools, and practicing how light, shadows, and shading work together to bring a flat drawing to life. Students are discovering how the right tools and techniques can transform a simple drawing into a realistic work of art full of detail.

Madison Middle School proudly dedicated its new Peace Pole today, thanks to the efforts and generosity of the Madison Rotary Club, which organized, planned, and funded the project. Mark and Toni Rustand of Rustand-Weiland Funeral Chapel, along with Rausch Granite, donated the dedication stone.
Students attended the ceremony, and several had the special opportunity to help place the pole. Peace Poles are symbols of hope, unity, and respect, reminding us that peace begins with each of us through our words, actions, and relationships with others.
We thank the Madison Rotary Club for helping create a lasting reminder of these important values for our school community.

Last week sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students presented a multilingual story time to Head Start preschoolers who were learning about families. MMS Multilingual classes collaborate with Head Start and the Madison Public Library to lead story times each fall and spring.

6th Grade Art just finished up their Favorite Food Close-up. Students recreate the packaging of their favorite food using the grid drawing method. From there, students use their knowledge of color theory to match the colors on their reference photo.

The Madison High School Class of 1976 celebrated its 50th class reunion last weekend and spent some time touring the High School and Middle School. We enjoyed hearing their stories and memories from their years in school. The group was amazed by the many changes that have taken place since they graduated and was impressed with all that our schools have to offer today. It was a pleasure to welcome them back to Madison!
