Another Successful Hour of Code MES students (kindergarten through 5th grade) have been busy coding using problem solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Even a little AI was used in some apps. Ask your child what coding app he/she used.

using Cospaces app to guide pirates to the treasure. Pirate Plunder takes place in an engaging 3D environment .
Code Combat coding app used to challenge a player. Student must code the hero they chose through lava pits and laser beams of Kithgard Dungeon using Python computer language.
Artificial intelligence was used in the Dance Party app to create a background. Students were able to choose characters, music and dance moves.
Christmas as arrived in coding with the Grinch as the main character. With the Grinch’s high tech sleigh with coding magic, he was able to capture presents and navigate down the mountain to return Christmas to Whoville.
First graders were coding elves some dance moves. They learned the repeat block to loop their favorite moves.
Kindergarten students were coding with the Kodable app. They even learn how to “debug” (find and fix the error) as the play.
Kindergarten students code their Fuzz through mazes using arrows. The goal is to pick up 3 stars on the correct path.
Sometimes we need to get up close to count and tackle logic problems. Using simple commands, players program their bots to navigate through progressively challenging mazes.
Kindergarten students use conditional statements (If/Then) commands by using colored blocks. Entering the correct code earns the students stars and new Fuzzes.
Who doesn’t like Legos. Legos is also involved in coding as this second graders codes a path for the Lego robot.
