The gymnastics team kicked off their season on November 29th in Deuel, South Dakota. Madison won this meet with a team score of 126.55 to Deuel's 125.4. Later on, in the week, the Bulldogs hosted Estelline/Hendricks, also adding another win for the season. Estelline/Hendricks scored 127.7 and the Bulldogs had a score of 131.45. On December 6th, the West Central Trojans traveled to Madison for a dual meet. The Bulldogs won this meet with a team score of 132.35 to West Centrals 111.15. Next week, the Bulldogs will go to Yankton for a triangular with Yankton and Brookings.
Last year, the Bulldogs had an outstanding season, winning the State Championship in Mitchell; the Deuel Cardinals placed second. This year, the state meet will take place in Aberdeen. Carrie Wieman, the Madison Assistant Coach, also won Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2021-2022 season.
