Neely Marie Salmen was born and raised in Madison, South Dakota with her family: her mom, Jackie; her dad, Gordon; and her older brother, Noah. Her birthdate is January 21, which is only two days apart from her brother’s birthday, although they were both supposed to be born in February. Despite being close, when they were growing up, Noah “accidentally” shot Neely in the face with his BB gun.
Christmas is Neely’s favorite time of the year, but she is always cold. This makes sense as one thing she cannot live without is her blankets, and if she had five million dollars to spend, she would buy fuzzy socks and pants. Even though she wears pink almost daily, Neely’s favorite color is yellow. Neely loves the TV show, Friends. She recommends watching it, as she has seen the entire show (ten seasons) fifteen times. Also, she has been told she is a lookalike to Reese Witherspoon, who appears on Friends, so she takes that as a huge compliment.
Some things that come easily to Neely include playing the piano and writing. If you are looking for Neely, she can be found working at the Floral Shop or The Office, always wearing the cross necklace that her grandmother gifted her.
Neely is excited to start college, but she does have fun memories from high school. One particular time in trigonometry class, Mr. Biershbach and Neely’s friend, Abby Palmquist, got into a tumble and B-bach took Abby to the ground. This led to a “restraining order” issued by Mr. Cordts.
If Neely could play any character in a tv show, she would play JJ in Criminal Minds because she would like to pursue a similar career. Neely will attend the University of Sioux Falls next fall double majoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology. In ten years, she sees herself married with an amazing family and a job she loves.
