One of the most recognizable and best-selling vehicles in the world is the Chevy Silverado. This vehicle and many more popular models are manufactured by the Chevrolet Motor Company, founded on November 3, 1911, in the famed city of car manufacturing: Detroit, Michigan. Louis Chevrolet, a Swiss race car driver and engineer, founded Chevrolet alongside William C. Durant, founder and president of GM (General Motors). In 1919, Alfred Sloan replaced Durant, with the goal of making “a car for every purse and every purpose.” Since then, Chevrolet has prospered as one of the most accessible and reliable automotive companies in the industry.

Their first-ever model, the Series C Classic Six (cover image), was unveiled in 1913 -- only two years after the company was founded. They sold 6,000 vehicles of that model for around $2,250 (around $69,564.38 today). Chevrolet has only gained in popularity since that time. In 2022 alone, Chevy has made over 1,104,427 sales. Their most popular model is the Chevy Silverado (bottom image); with more than 379,024 sold this year, and each one sells for an average of $36,464.
