Born in Madison, South Dakota, Jared Mark Kennington (otherwise known as Jerry) is the son of Lance and Patti Kennington. He has an older sister, Hannah; an older brother, Ryan; and his twin, Mason. Jared says that it is nice to have someone his own age who is always there for him. He said that if he could move somewhere for a year, he would choose Alaska because he would get to fish, hike, and look at the mountains.
Some of Jared’s favorite things are: the color blue, lasagna, the movie A River Runs Through It, and science, specifically biology because of the animals. Jared has a passion for animals and plans on attending SDSU and studying wildlife and fisheries to pursue his dream of becoming a wildlife biologist. Looking towards the future, Jared hopes to have a family and live comfortably in 10 years. On his bucket list (that he just started) he would love to travel to Europe and Canada.
Jerry’s dream superpower would be invisibility because no one would be able to see what he is doing and if he were to receive five million dollars, he would buy a house in the mountains of Wyoming, give one million to his family, and the rest to buy a lot of land. He very well could get all this money from being a U.S travel influencer, which would be his dream content to make. One thing holding him back from a career in influencing is his fear of spiders. Jared went on to say, “They are creepy, they crawl everywhere, and you never know where they are.”
In his limited free time, Jared loves to go on walks and hang out with his friends; he also plans on applying to Runnings in the near future. Looking back on his high school years, he says that it was a struggle that never ended, and would rate it a 5/10 because he wishes he would have gotten involved in other sports besides baseball and he doesn’t like to do the same thing every day. Jerry wants to leave you with these two simple words: “Work hard.”
