On Thursday, September 23, the Madison Cross Country Team went to the Clark-Willow Lake Cross Country Invitational in Clark, South Dakota at the Clark Municipal Golf Course and Clubhouse. The head coach of the Madison Bulldog Cross Country team is Robert Cordts and the assistant coach is Nicole Troxell. In total there was a girls varsity race, boys varsity race, girls junior varsity race, and boys junior varsity race.
The medalists for the girl’s varsity were 2nd Ellie Keller, 6th Sammy Troxell, 11th Piper Davies, and 13th Katharine Comes. The girls got 1st place overall as a girls varsity team.
The medalists for the boy’s varsity were 3rd Dylan Gerdes, 4th Elijah Sims, 8th Aaron Hawkes, 9th Braeden Keller, 13th Deion Cross, and 15th Chuck Callahan. The boys won 2nd place overall as the boy’s varsity team.
The medalists for girls junior varsity were 4th Kyra Wiese, 5th Kylee Oines, 11th Laney Misar, and 14th Delaney Feistner.
The medalists for the boy’s junior varsity were 1st Nathan Hasleton, 2nd Ryan Jencks, 3rd Chase Steuerwald, 6th Enoch Martin, 7th Elijah Olson, 9th Zach Ryan, 10th Kai Thompson, 11th Ranick Fjerstad, 13th Spencer Reverts, and 14th Cooper Johnson.
The next race the Madison Cross Country Team will attend is at the Volga-Meadow Creek Golf Course in Volga, South Dakota on Tuesday, September 28 at 4 pm.
