Everyone has something in their life that they couldn’t live without; for some, it may be their family, for others it may be an activity like running,but for 18-year-old High School Senior Seth Joseph Fernau, it is Ramen Noodles. That's not the only way food impacts his life; he is currently working at Taco John’s. When asked where he would live in the world for a year, he chose Italy for its pasta and pizza. And when asked what his YouTube channel would be,he said that it would be a cooking channel. He can even relate how his past year has been to food! He described it as ‘Stir Fry because a lot was going on.’
But food isn’t the only thing on Seth’s mind. When I asked what his favorite subject was he said math because “it just comes easy to him.” With that, it should come as no surprise he wants to be an actuary. He will achieve this after he goes to Wayne State and gets his bachelor's degree in business administration. And in 10 years he sees himself as an actuary in North Carolina.
Some fun facts about Mr. Fernau are: his family consists of him, his mother, father, brother, and sister. He currently lives in Madison. His favorite color is purple. His favorite show is Teen Wolf and his favorite movie is Benchwarmers. His favorite sport is tennis cause he’s good at it. As for what he’d recommend for people to do, he says, ‘Sudoku, for the challenge.’ Some points on his bucket list are that he wants to travel, skydive, and learn French. Now, skydiving would be no easy feat because Seth has a fear of heights, and when he does skydive it would be nowhere near water because of his fear of drowning. As for the game show he’d want to be on, he’d choose Family Feud, because it's fun and he’s watched it since he was a kid.
One thing that I noticed was how much Seth cares about others. The advice he lives by is “always be nice; it doesn’t cost anything.” And that's not all! If he could be any character from a movie, show, or a book he’d pick Flash, not for the super speed, but for how the Flash cares about everyone and loves to help his community. As for Seth’s preferred super-power, he would choose flying so he could get places quicker. If given 5 million dollars to spend in 5 days but he couldn’t spend it on himself, he’d give some to his sister for a kickstart to her fashion company, some to his brother to help him train, some to his parents, and the rest to charity. When asked which cartoon character best describes him he replied, “Spongebob because he’s hard-working, loves his pet, and is always happy and nice.” Lastly, if he could have anything in the world, he’d have Happy the Pug back, because he misses having him around and coming home to him.
