Senior Spotlight: Rebecca Sims

Madison High School is a school filled with over 350 students. Every single one of these students has interesting facts about them that make them unique from all the other students. The one that I had the honor of chatting with is Rebecca Ann Sims, and let me tell you, she’s an incredibly interesting and cool person.

Rebecca's family consists of her mom, 2 sisters, and her dad who lives in Kentucky. Rebecca used to live in Kentucky, but when she was seven, she moved to the town we all know as Madison. She told me if she could live anywhere in the world, it would be New Zealand. Her reasoning is she thinks it looks beautiful.

There are many things she loves, like the color blue, Hawaiian pizza, Hailee Steinfeld, and something she specifically really recommends because of how good it is, the CW show, The Hundred. As much as she loves all of those things, the thing she loves the most is her dog, Annie. She’s a 5-year-old mixed breed, and the reason she loves her so much is because of how cute she is. Another thing she really enjoys are the Marvel movies. She told me if she could play any fictional character, it would be Black Widow. Her reasoning is because she thinks she would be a fun character to play since she thinks she’s such a cool and diverse character. Speaking of being part of some form of a media, she told me she would like to be on Wipeout because it looks like it would be fun.

If she had any superpower, she told me she would choose the ability to fly. She chose this one because she would get to places like school faster. However, even this wouldn’t make her overcome her fear of sharks. They’re the reason she can’t go in the ocean.

If she had to guess what her life would be like in 10 years, she thinks she would be somebody who graduated both high school and college. The college she expects to go to and graduate in particular is Murray State. She also expects to become a social worker. A promise she made to herself is that if she ever got $5 million, she would divide it and send it to charities. Whether or not she’ll actually do these things is left for the future. I have a great feeling she would end up doing all of these things.
