If making music, listening to lyrics, and dancing to the beat of your own drum was a highly paid career, this is where you would find Sekeira Avriel Alfson. Ever since Sekeira was old enough to talk, she has dreamed of a future involving music in some way shape, or form. At this point in her life, she spends her free time working at Dairy Queen because she understands that working hard will pay off in the end.
Originally from Sioux Falls, SD Sekeira is 17 and full of life. If you ask her why purple is her preferred color, she would tell you, “because it reminds me of a sunset.” She has exquisite taste and it shows through her love of King crab, her favorite meal. When Sekeira isn’t working, she prefers to watch one of her favorite movies, Avatar, or the series Stranger Things on Netflix. Today, she resides with her brother and mother but has 1 older brother and 2 younger brothers that live elsewhere. Sekeira’s mom works as a secretary at DSU.
If she had to describe herself as a particular kind of food, it would be a “mix of sweet & spicy chips” because she loves to have fun, but also realizes that with growing up, comes a lot more responsibility, and let me tell you, she has had some amazing adventures! If there was one item she cannot live without it would be her car, because she is independent, career-driven, and loves to travel, it is the one thing in life that is necessary to her survival. When it comes to relieving stress, Sekeira turns to her favorite subject, art. It allows her to focus on nothing but what she is trying to achieve.
A movie that fits her personality is Brave. The main character has a mother who has high expectations, that she does not agree with. At some point, she veers off on her own and finds her purpose in life. Sekeira relates to this on so many levels as she navigates into adulthood. If able to travel, one destination Sekeira would like to visit would be Hawaii. Sekeira is a frequent visitor to Las Vegas and she highly recommends visiting this entertainment filled, well lit, adventurous place. A movie character that Sekeira admires is “Shuri” from the Black Panther because she’s smart and talented.
Sekeira dreams of becoming a music artist. Performing for fans would be a dream come true. For now, she will persevere, work hard and keep focused on her dreams in order to be where she wants to be 10 years from now.
