How to Properly Wash Your Hands

During this problematic season, we should  know how to properly wash our hands to keep our society and ourselves safe. Along with the typical influenza season, we now have to worry about COVID-19. Here are the steps you need to take to free your hands from germs:

The first step you need to take is getting your hands wet. While the water is still running, get one or two pumps of soap, and for at least twenty seconds, scrub your hands together. Make sure to get all of the surfaces of your hands - some of the most missed spots include thumbs, in-between fingers, and the back of your hand. After you have taken the time to scrub all of the surfaces of your hands, it is now time to rinse them off. Make sure not to touch the sink, because this can re-contaminate your hands and you will have to start all over again. After rinsing your hands, dry them off with a paper towel. After your hands are dry, take a clean paper towel and turn off the water. As an extra precaution, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer after you are finished with all of the steps to washing your hands.

Next time you go to wash your hands, remember all the people it affects, and take thirty seconds to wash your hands thoroughly.
