Senior Spotlight: Jackson Boldt

Seventeen year-old Jackson Henry Boldt is the son of Jeff and Robin Boldt and the brother of Aly, Will, Olivia, and Anna. One interesting fact about Jackson and his family is that they were all born in different states, besides his sister Anna and himself. He loves his family so much that if he won five million dollars, he would spend it all on them…that is if he couldn’t keep it for himself and invest it.

If Jackson was given a superpower, he would love to have super strength so he could lift anything. In reality, Jackson doesn’t need that superpower because he is already really good at lifting things. He could see himself using that strength as a contestant on American Ninja Warrior and thinks that it would be fun to test his toughness and endurance while trying out the obstacle courses. If he could play any movie character, he would cast himself as Maximus from the movie Gladiator. With his strong muscles and wit, Jackson thinks he would make a good Gladiator.

One thing Jackson couldn’t live without is music. He thinks that music is always good and can help cure boredom. His favorite type of food is chocolate popcorn. Even though Jackson has a bright personality, his favorite color is grey. If he would take time to watch TV, he would like to watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars. His favorite movie is Fight Club and his favorite book is All Quiet on the Western Front.

A cartoon character that best describes Jackson is Bugs Bunny. Like Bugs, Jackson is smart, cunning, and charismatic. If money was no object, and Jackson knew he wouldn’t fail, he would pursue “getting a PHD in a bunch of things.” Jackson is very passionate about his education and whatever he goes into, undoubtedly he will succeed. Next fall, he is interested in attending Dakota State University for cyber security or the University of Minnesota for oncology. This ties in with where he will see himself in the next ten years, either working for the NSA or finishing a PHD. If Jackson were to give underclassmen advice, he would recommend that they apply themselves in whatever they do and stay focused on improving themselves.

With his interest in studying oncology, if Jackson could live anywhere in the world for a year, he would love to live in Austria. His reasoning for choosing Austria includes visiting some of their cutting edge immunology clinics. He strives to learn more about the immune system and how it protects us from infections and diseases, especially those that could lead to cancer. Another reason to live in Austria involves his desire to learn the German language. Wherever the future leads him, it is certain that Jackson will be successful.
