Senior Spotlight: Isaac Meyer

Isaac Reynold Meyer is the fourth oldest child to his mother Casualene and his father Kenneth Meyer. He is 17 years old with an August 30, 2002 birthday, making him the youngest senior at Madison High School. Isaac, on occasion, will help his father at the family’s beeswax processing plant. Isaac's favorite food is pizza, but not pineapple pizza because he says, “the sweet taste from the pineapple ruins the pizza.”

Isaac says that if he was given five million dollars to spend, he would give the money to his father to invest in the stock market, as he trusts his father and thinks that he is an honest man. However, if the money was to go to himself for achieving a dream he has always wanted, he would want to have his own film and movie studio company. Oddly enough, with his love of movies, he has very little interest in television shows.

In Isaac’s free time, he likes to draw and says that he couldn’t live without a pencil to draw with. This may explain his love of worldbuilding, where he creates fictitious worlds in his mind. Some worldbuilding he has done is for his scripts for the newly formed film club. Other things he does in his free time is play videogames of the Nintendo franchise, like Super Smash Bros and Super Mario. He also spends time reading books, like the book series Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. His favorite movie is Jurassic Park, but he sees the others as bad because, in his opinion, they don’t have a good story. He has recently started watching older anime like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. He also suggests that everyone watch movies from Studio Ghibli, but specifically the movie My Neighbor Totoro, as he deems it wholesome.

If Isaac could have any superpower, he says that he would choose teleportation because the superpower of flying is too often chosen. He says that teleportation would be better because it would be a form of instantaneous transportation. The food item that most describes Isaac’s life this year is milk, because it can go bad very fast, but if used right can make something amazing. One piece of advice that Isaac has learned from high school is to not procrastinate and to just get work done on time. If he could live anywhere, Isaac would move back to Louisiana because the expectations in Louisiana are lower. If Isaac could play any character, he would play Javert from Les Miserables. He has participated in band since 5th grade, has done cross country since middle school, and theater since kindergarten, where he was in community theater.

After High School, Isaac plans to go to DSU to Major in Cyber Operations because of the scholarships available to him. In ten years, Isaac sees himself running a regular desk job, that he doesn’t especially like, but pays well.
