Oakley James Mees, commonly known as “Chewie Mees” or the “O-Factor,” is the son of Jennifer and Mike Mees. Oakley has an older brother named Trevor and a dog named Willie. Oakley also mentioned his cousin, Siah Baum, is basically part of his main family. Oakley has made many memories with Siah and states, “Siah wouldn’t hurt a turkey.” Oakley was born in Madison and loves the color light purple. Oakley loves his dad’s cooking, and his favorite places to eat are El Vaquero and Chick-fil-A. Oakley enjoys watching Good-Good on YouTube, and his favorite movie is The Do-Over.
During the summer, Oakley works with his Grandpa on the farm. When he isn't working, in the summer, he is playing baseball. Oakley said he couldn’t imagine living without his baseball glove, an item that has helped him achieve significant success. Oakley has had many accomplishments in baseball; he won the state championship in spring baseball and summer baseball in the same year. Some other hobbies of Oakley's include golfing with his friends, listening to the song "A Pill in Ibiza," going to McDonald's, hanging out at Brody Finck's, and spending time with loved ones.
After high school, Oakley plans to play college baseball, but he is unsure where. In 10 years from now, Oakley sees himself married with kids, a nice house, and hopefully still playing golf and baseball. Oakley would like people to know that he is a very sophisticated man once you get to know him. While owls' eyes are one of his biggest fears, he said it doesn’t stop him from being out at night. Oakley compares himself to SpongeBob because they both love laughing and chit-chatting. Some advice Oakley has for underclassmen is: "Go out for new sports even if you are unsure." A quote Mr. Mees lives by is, “Don’t care what other people think of you.”
