Sydney Goodwin is the daughter of Kate Hernandez and Phill Goodwin. Sydney, also called “Peter” by her aunt, has always lived in Madison with her five brothers: James, Jack, Gus, Max, and Parker. Due to her many siblings, Sydney has a natural talent for working with young children. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, often driving around listening to music. Because of this, she says she cannot live without her car. Full of kindness and grace, she lives by the concept of always giving everyone a chance.
Sydney would someday like to cross a few specific items off her bucket list: visiting the Maldives, raising a family, and living in a large, cabin-like house. If given the opportunity to live anywhere in the world, she would choose Colorado, where she can live along the line of forest and civilization. Her favorite color, dark green, perfectly matches Colorado’s environment. Sydney loves to travel, and her fear of insects and heights only sometimes stops her from doing so. When home, she enjoys finding a good book to read, her favorite being Orbiting Jupiter.
When asked the questions, “What’s your favorite subject?” and “What is your career plan?”, Sydney answers in the same way. She fell in love with her psychology class, and now plans to become a forensic psychologist. In ten years, Sydney hopes to be finishing school, starting a family, and being financially stable. Her experience at Madison High School has greatly influenced her life, and she will be remembered throughout the school by her time as a cheerleader and color guard member. She looks back fondly on her memories of band competitions and getting ready for school events with friends. Her favorite quote is “Everything happens for a reason, but not everything needs an explanation.” Sydney’s advice for underclassmen is to “not take anything for granted” and to remember that time really does fly.
