Ashten Joel Dorhout has lived around Madison his whole life. His family includes his mom, Kari; his dad, Corey; and his brothers, Tristen and Braden. Ashten says, “One person I could not live without is my mom because she makes good food and does my laundry.” His favorite TV show is Duck Dynasty, and his favorite book is Si-cology 1: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty's Favorite Uncle by Si Robertson. His favorite movie is the original Top Gun, and he likes the color teal. In the summer, he works construction with his brother.

In Ashten’s free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing. If he had a YouTube channel, it would be all about fishing. Some things that come easily to him are playing football and making people angry. Something unusual about Ashten is that he is very good at staring contests. Ashten is proud of the time he won the Prairie Village Pedal Pull when he was little. He is also very afraid of snakes, death, and women. If he could live anywhere in the world, he would live in Montana so that he wouldn’t have to talk to anyone. He also wants to live in Canada so that he can shoot a black bear. Ashten’s bucket list consists of driving a pulling tractor, going to Canada, hunting a polar bear, and being part of the 100 men versus a gorilla.

When asked what Ashten’s most memorable moment from high school was, he said, “Mr. Cordts’ class because it was entertaining.” His advice for the underclassmen is not to worry about homework. He thinks he will be remembered for being the lunch lady’s favorite person at Madison High School. After high school, he plans to attend USD to major in accounting and business, and play football. In 10 years, he sees himself living around Madison and working as a CPA. If he could recommend one thing, it would be going to church. One verse he lives by is Matthew 6:34. This verse says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
