Mackenzie “Kenzie” Leigh Olson, daughter of Ethan and Tara, is a senior at Madison Central High School. She was born in Sioux Falls and spent her early years moving between Omaha, Madison, and Elrosa, Minnesota. After living in Sioux Falls during middle school, she returned to Madison for high school, where she’s been ever since. Kenzie is the oldest of three siblings, with a younger brother, Aiden, and sister, Kya.
In her free time, you can find her at her job out at Pizza Ranch making pizzas and cooking chicken. The most rewarding thing about her job is that a ton of her friends work there, and the regular customers who come in every Tuesday. When she isn’t at work, she is either shopping with her friends, hanging out with her boyfriend, Sam, or sleeping. Her favorite things include her favorite color, orange, because of how bright and fun the color is. She also loves watching Love Island or The Notebook. If she had 5 million dollars, she would spend it on an old house that she could renovate, travel to Greece, and do lots of shopping.
Kenzie plans to attend college at SDSU to major in Human biology then later on attend dental school. She sees herself in 10 years, just starting a family with her rich husband while continuing her job as a dentist. She hopes to have a “big white not-so-new home” outside of a big town.
When reflecting on her high school experience, her absolute favorite part was spending her study hall in Ms. Lutter's room. Her advice to underclassmen is, “Don’t let your peers change who you are and to push yourself to do great things.”
