Braelyn Marie Abraham is a 17-year-old senior at MHS. She has lived in Madison for most of her life, but spent time in Dell Rapids, SD, for preschool. She has a family of four: one brother, her mom, and her dad. Her dad has actually been deployed 3 times to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Djibouti. Outside of her family, she loves a plethora of animals, but she says her favorite are probably horses.
For school activities, she participates in Powerlifting and FFA. Some of her favorite classes in high school so far have been the AG classes with Mr. Bigge and science classes with Mr. Swenson. One of her most memorable moments was last year, when she placed 2nd place at the 2025 State Powerlifting meet. In her free time outside of school, she enjoys watching movies, spending time with her cat, and watching 90s romantic comedies. One thing she says she couldn’t live without is her coffee maker, which she won at after-prom during her junior year. She even makes her own coffee syrups to test out in her free time.
In the future, she plans to attend Lake Area Tech for a degree in Natural Resource Management and then attend SDSU to further her education. In 10 years, she sees herself living out west and working in a conservation/land development career. If she were to be able to tell incoming freshmen something before they start their journey, she would say, “Don’t be afraid to join something your friends aren't in; you may find something you like.” She also lives by the motto “JUST DO IT,” and encourages others to do the same.
