Kira Madison Lawrence, also known as “Ms. Madison,” was born January 22, 2008. She is one of six people in her family. Her mother, Bobbi, is a massage therapist, and her father, Christopher, works construction. She is the third of four siblings; her older sisters Kayla, (24) and Kassidy (19), and her younger brother, Kodi (13). At home, she has a furry companion, her cat Moose, her “pride and joy.” Originally from a small town in upstate New York, moving to Madison is a big switch, she said, “It is a lot different here, mainly because there are more cows than people here.” Kira has been involved in many activities since arriving in Madison. She devotes herself to many school activities. She is in softball, marching band, concert band, jazz band, and winter guard for all four years, cheers in basketball, has competed in HOSA for two years, is a proud member of the National Honor Society, and cross country for one year. On top of that, she works at The Office Bar and Grill. Her favorite part of her job is making people smile-- and the tips.

When she is not doing school activities or working, Kira loves to spend her free time watching movies, spending time with family, and reading. Books are one thing she simply couldn't live without; she loves getting “lost in other worlds,” and let it be known, her favorite book is the infamous, ever popular,  Fourth Wing. When asked what superpower she would choose, she said, “the ability to stop time, so I can get all the things I need to get done in a day.” The motto she lives by is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Although Kira does not have a bucket list,  “I am just trying to plan this week,” she jokes, she plans to attend college to pursue a career as an orthodontist. In 10 years, she sees herself married with a loving husband and two kids settling into a home, just finishing up orthodontist school. Her advice to underclassmen is “Walk fast in the hallways, and don’t be afraid to try new things—even if your friends aren’t doing them. That’s how you make new ones.”
