I have always thought that having a sibling is a privilege that most people get to experience. However, I have been proven quite wrong all throughout my life, since some don't have the type of sibling I have. I have grown up my whole life being labeled the “youngest” and with an older sister by my side through it all - good and bad. She is three years older than me and has been paving a way for the path I have taken during day-to-day activities, but most importantly, during my time in high school.

I entered my freshman year of high school while my older sister was starting her final high school year. I was a little nervous about the change in environment and schedule, but with the help of my sister and her friends, I was able to make an easy transition to high school. She was my guidance for that whole year, and by the time it was August, and she was getting ready to leave for college, I felt confident in my abilities to handle high school without her by my side.

Over my years, I have learned that siblings are one of the greatest blessings a person can be gifted in their life. For me personally, my sister and I went through our typical argumentative stage as young children, but now I can say she is one of the closest people in my life. A sibling, especially an older one, is a constant guide to the wrongs and rights of life and how to navigate it all. I will forever be grateful to grow up with one by my side.
