Kristalyn Shanell Mette, also known as Krissy, was born in Sioux Falls but has always lived in Madison. Her family consists of her dad, mom, and one sister. The nickname "Krissy" was given to her because "Kristalyn" was too long. Her mom always called her "Mini" because Krissy was her mom's mini-me. Krissy’s plans after High School consist of attending Mitchell Tech and studying either as a Diesel Technician or Ag Mechanic.
Krissy loves chicken alfredo, the color red, and watching The Golden Girls. Doodling and theatre are what come easily to her. Krissy works at the Many Point Scout Camp. When asked what the most rewarding part of her job is, she said, “Meeting all different types of people and creating different bonds.” If Krissy were given $5 million to spend, she would help different scout camps or build her own. In her free time, you can find Krissy either at Many Point Scout Camp or playing board games with her dad. In 10 years, Krissy sees herself sharing an apartment with her best friend and doing a job that she loves. A famous quote that she lives by is, “Just keep swimming.”
One thing that Krissy is proud of herself for is sticking to scouts and making it as far as she did. Whether Krissy is doodling in her notebook, battling her dad in an intense board game, or laughing along to The Golden Girls, the joy in her life is rooted in simple things that make life golden.
