Evie Lurz (Evelyn, who earned the shortened name from her sister, who initially struggled to pronounce "Evelyn") lives with the company of her family, including her older brother, Jerett (25), sister, Karley (20), and her parents, Kandy and Jason, who have quite recently moved to town from the country. Evie loves spending time with her many friends, scrolling through TikTok, playing with her pets, and playing softball, in which she uses as an opportunity to mentor the younger players. She has always found a certain ease in talking to people, in school, and in the great sport of softball. Her favorite color is quite easily pink, which matches perfectly with Gilmore Girls, her TV show of choice. The one thing that she couldn’t live without is her bed. She used to love math as her subject of choice, but then AP Calc happened… so she is now quite firmly a fan of biology. Given the opportunity, she would gladly live on the West coast; not just the beaches of southern California or the temperate forests of Washington, but the entire region.

If Evie was granted one superpower, it would be teleportation so she could travel to softball games at top-notch speeds. If she had 5 million dollars, she would go on a rampage through the various clothing outlets of the Mall of America, maybe stopping to buy a car-- to move more clothes (in particular, Aritzia, H+M, Zara, Addikted). This would match her online influencer niche of “getting dressed” format and various “Storytime” videos. She has often been described as Anna from Frozen, and given the choice of playing a character, she would select Miss Honey from Matilda, as she made a difference for all the little children.

The greatest memory she holds of high school is that of state softball in her freshman year ( she says they should have beaten Tea). Her advice for underclassmen is quite simple: talk to as many people as possible, spend time with friends, and just be nice to those around you.

After graduation this spring, Evie plans to attend DSU, majoring in Digital Forensics and playing softball. In the future, she sees herself with a family with one child, a large house, and an enjoyable career. She lives by one simple line from Romans 5:8: “I love you at your darkest.”
