Friendships are one of the most special things in life, especially during high school. Friends are so important because they shape who you are as a person. I am a firm believer that you are who you surround yourself with. Friendships can influence you in a good or bad way, which is why it is so important that you pick the right friends; from Friday night lights to late-night study groups, friends help you overcome the hardest challenges in life. They stick by you through it all and they inspire you to be the best version of yourself, lift you up, make you feel loved, and provide acceptance.
A quote from St. Peter's Prep says that “Having a peer to lean on can help kids deal with any negative emotions that may arise at school. Friendships can provide a support system and bolster mental health when kids face difficulties with their learning, extracurricular activities, or classmates.” These friendships are vital because they can improve your mental health and outlook. Without friendships, the days would feel a lot lonelier, and the memories wouldn’t mean as much.
