Miranda Gonyo

Miranda Wynn Gonyo is the daughter of Gary and Dana Gonyo, and has one sister, Bailey. Most people don’t know that Gonyo is actually supposed to be pronounced "Gon-you" since the name is French Canadian. She was born on December 5, 2007, and has lived in Madison, SD, her whole life. You may also hear her being called  “Manda”, which is a nickname that her sister created, and it eventually caught on with the tennis team and her friends. Miranda's favorite colors are pink, orange, and all shades of brown. She also really likes The Bee Movie and a good handcrafted pizza from Invictus Pizza Kitchen, her favorite restaurant in Sioux Falls. During her free time, Miranda enjoys spending time with friends, going on walks, watching TikTok, and visiting McDonald's. Miranda says, “I could not live without Diet Coke; it keeps me fueled.”

Miranda would love to play as the character the Lorax, to save trees and because he’s her alter ego. She recommends the Chocolate Brownie Extreme Blizzard from Dairy Queen because it’s her favorite. Church camp and her trips to Mexico and Hawaii have been her favorite memories. Miranda can be the most outgoing or the most introverted person ever, depending on who she’s around. Her advice to underclassmen is to get involved in many activities.

Miranda plans to attend SDSU for college to pursue a career in elementary education. In 10 years, she hopes to be an elementary school teacher with her own family in a stable home. “I want a nice Jeep, but not a “ ‘Jeep’ Jeep,” Miranda explains. If she could live anywhere in the world, she would like to live in Bora Bora in a beach house with friends, as it's a nice, tropical location. Her bucket list includes going on a mission trip to Africa to help serve the people within the villages, and she also hopes to go skydiving someday.
