Alan Baskerville is our new Athletic Director at MHS. He transferred here from the Baltic School District. He decided to come to our school because of all the opportunities we allow the students to participate in. He liked the idea of all of the strong CTE programs and other alternative activities given to the students. He believes in a systemic approach to education, which is a hybrid method of teaching concepts that will be later applied and used in the real world. Baskerville imagines that if we teach things that students will actually need for the real world, it would be better for the students' overall knowledge.
Mr. Baskerville did not always plan on being an Athletic Director. He intended to be a college professor. When asked what he liked most about his new position, Mr. Baskerville mentioned the preplanning and preparation that go into the events he oversees. Being an Athletic Director and Assistant Principal is the correct fit for Mr. Baskerville because he can still wield his competitive nature while also providing athletes, coaches, and other administrators with the tools they need to compete and achieve academic and athletic excellence.
