As we reach a month into school, something special roams around Homecoming week. There will be a week full of voting and fun activities, and then the homecoming game on Friday. As many of you may know, two seniors are crowned Homecoming Queen and King.
Caleb Pettersen was crowned Homecoming King. His plan after graduating from high school includes getting a 4-year degree. Some of his favorite hobbies are lifting weights and spending time with friends and family. His favorite club is the National Honor Society (NHS). When questioned “What impact has high school had on your life?”, he said: “High school has had an extremely big impact on my life because it has shaped me into the man I am today.” When asked how it feels to be a senior, he responded, “Being a senior feels great, because of the many freedoms I get to experience and because I get to be a role model to others.” When asked how being Homecoming king felt, he responded, “Being Homecoming king feels good because of all the cool things you get to do!”
Miranda Gonyo was elected Homecoming Queen. She is planning to get a major in elementary education. She also plans to attend SDSU in Brookings, SD. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Maroon newspaper, FCA, tennis, track and field, girls' basketball, Teens as Teachers, and Youth Group. Her favorite club is the student council. Miranda said that being a senior has many perks, but it is bittersweet with all the “lasts”. When she was asked what role high school has played in her life, she said, “High school has allowed me to grow into the person I am today and has allowed me to meet many of the people I call my friends today.”
This exciting week full of fun and activities comes to an end as we wait for the football game on Friday, September 12th, at 6:00. Join us to say goodbye to homecoming week for the 2025-2026
