Each month has a specific cause to spread awareness about a specific circumstance. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every month is designated to something different, but they all spread awareness to places that need it most. Every year, a unique variety of people of various ages are made aware of these months to help provide an understanding of what people go through. While all of these months are important, October is a special month for many people.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month exists to raise awareness about one specific type of cancer, breast cancer. Breast Cancer is a dangerous disease in which abnormal cells grow in the breast tissue. When most people think of this topic, they think of a ribbon. There are a few different ribbons for certain months because October is not the only month that spreads awareness for cancer. In fact, September is also a month of cancer awareness that targets a different specific type of cancer, Childhood Cancer Awareness. While every month plays an important role in cancer awareness, October is a big part of making people aware of cancer.
