Calvin Robert Martin was born on May 10, 2006, in California. He then lived in Minnesota for seven years. He now lives in Madison with his dad, David; his mom, Lisa; and his six siblings, one of which being away at college. Along with staying busy at home, Calvin is also involved in band, choir, theater, oral interpretation, and student council.
When asked about his favorite food, Calvin answered “Food that’s good.” His favorite color is green. If he could have any superpower Calvin would choose super speed because time is important, and this would help him get places quickly. The advice he would give to underclassmen would be, “Procrastination is not good, don’t do it, it will only hurt you.”(He is speaking from personal experience)
He spends most of his free time reading and playing video games. His favorite book series is The Storm Light Archives. If he were a character in a book he said he would be, “Some background character, probably on the computer, not involved in the plot whatsoever.” Calvin’s favorite subject is English because he enjoys the complexity of language and the power it gives for communication.
Calvin’s plans after high school consist of attending either Boston University or the University of Minnesota. He would like to double major in theater and computer sciences, while he looks for acting work. He sees himself working as a computer software designer. As far as location goes Calvin stated his plans are “definitely not in South Dakota.” He would say his dad is his biggest role model because his dad is smart and educated. According to Calvin, his father is stable and “has it all figured out but is still always looking to learn more.” These are traits Calvin hopes to possess.
