Emily Elizabeth Lanners, also known as “Em” or “Em Dog,” is the daughter of Penny Johnson and Joesph Lanners. She is an only child, though she lives with her three dogs. Her favorite dog is Charli, a Collie-Golden Retriever. Although Emily grew up in Madison, she went to Chester for Kindergarten through fifth grade and then moved to Madison Middle School. Three words to describe Emily would be adventurous, determined, and smart. In Emily’s free time, she enjoys going to the lake with her friends, reading, and playing with her dog, Charli. If there's one thing that Emily can’t live without, it would be her fun and crazy socks. Emily works at Pizza Ranch in Madison, which is rewarding to her because she “likes working with people that I enjoy”.
After high school, Emily plans on working in a national park, being an apprentice for an electrician, and eventually getting her EMT license. In ten years, Emily sees herself having received a good education, happily married with a dog and a cat, and planning on children. Emily’s bucket list consists of moving to Switzerland and owning a Highland cow. In school, Emily’s favorite class was Earth and Space Science with Mr. Swenson because it was very “interesting.”
Outside of MHS, you can find Emily at the lake with her friends or working with the people she loves. If Emily could recommend anything, it would be to take this advice: “Just be who you are, even your weirdest self,” and “Don’t compromise yourself for anyone else.” Emily’s advice to underclassmen would be, “Don’t be in such a rush; enjoy it, and don’t stress.”
