Elijah Douglas Sims is a senior at Madison High School and has lived in Madison his whole life. His family includes his dad, Steven; his mom, Camella; his sister, Eleni; and his brothers, Ethan and Silas. Elijah works at Subway, which is family-owned. His favorite color is blue because it is the primary color of his favorite college, the University of Michigan. Tortelli pasta is his favorite food because his father makes it. If Elijah could time travel, he would go back to the times of the Roman Empire. When he was asked how often he thinks about the Roman Empire, he stated, “No comment.”
Elijah Sims is a well-rounded and enjoyable person to be around. He has played many sports such as golf, basketball, tennis, track, and cross country. Not only does he participate in sports, but he is also involved in many other activities, such as HOSA, FBLA, Best Buddies, NHS, and Student Council. Elijah’s favorite subject in school is trigonometry. In his words, “It just makes sense.” He is a linear thinker and enjoys the formulas. In his free time, you will probably catch him hanging out with friends, playing basketball, and going to the high school games together.
Elijah’s advice to the underclassman is, “Do your vocab in Biology.” In 10 years, Elijah sees himself married, possibly with kids, and settled into a hospital job. Elijah also wants a German Shorthaired Pointer or a Lab Pointer. After high school, Elijah wants to attend the University of Sioux Falls or the University of South Dakota to major in business administration.
