Summer

School will be out soon, which means some of you will have plenty of time on your hands. This time can be spent with friends, family, vacations, and maybe even lounging around at the pool. Instead of sitting indoors all day, spend some time being active. Summer is a great way to exercise, enjoy the outdoors, and even soak up some vitamin D. Here are a couple of excellent ways to stay active during the summer:

Camping:

Camping out can be a fun experience for family and friends. During your campout, you can assemble a tent or sleep in a camper, start a campfire, and roast some delicious marshmallows to make the perfect s’more, or you could tell ghost stories while gazing at the stars!

Hiking:

When a nice and sunny day appears, a hike in the woods or outdoors would be the perfect way to burn off some steam. Hiking is a good way to get some exercise while also spending quality time with family or friends. If there is a nearby stream or lake, soak your legs to refresh your legs from the hot summer sun. Look online to find hiking places near you and make it a planned trip!

Swimming:

An excellent way to cool off during summer is to find a pool and go swimming. If you don’t have a pool, you can find the nearest public pool or go swimming at a nearby lake. Not only can you swim laps, but you can also play volleyball with some friends, or just lounge around and get a good summer tan!

Baking / Cooking:

Summer is the best time to try out some new recipes. You can impress the family with a home-cooked meal. Not only do you have to cook indoors, but you can also cook burgers or steak on the grill outside while enjoying the nice weather. If you don’t know where to start, look at Pinterest, they have lots of delicious meals and desserts to choose from!

Volunteering:

Another good way to spend your summer free time is by volunteering. Go to your local library, church, school, or recreational center to see if there is any work you can do to help out the business. Volunteering is an exceptional way to gain experience and positive feedback from other businesses while also doing good for the community!
