Senior Spotlight: Morgan Hansen

Eighteen-year-old Morgan Nichole Hansen knows that mayonnaise isn’t an instrument but loves Patrick Star anyway. She loves Patrick for how calm and collected he is, how he absolutely adores food, and how lazy he is. But when asked what her favorite show is, things take a strange turn. While she says Criminal Minds is her personal favorite show, she wants to save as many animals as possible. This shows a softer side of Morgan and her love of all of the furry critters out there.

When asked the question of what she would do with five million dollars in five days, she said: “I would spend it on my family.” Speaking of family, she lives on Lake Madison, in Wentworth, with her parents, Kim and Curt Hansen, and brother Mitch. A fun fact about her brother is that he has broken the same arm twice. When it comes to something she cannot live without besides her phone, Morgan says she would be lost without her weighted blanket because it’s “very comforting”.  One skill she has had time to perfect over the past four years at Madison High is her ability to deal with people. When her sense of style is something people admire, her favorite color changes constantly. She says the color just “depends on the day”.

While she isn’t in any fine arts, Morgan says she is quite dramatic and is stage-worthy. But if she did perform, she would love to play Alex Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, the reason why is “the magic powers and such”. If she could pick any superpower, Morgan would choose teleportation, because she would rather be anywhere else than South Dakota. When asked what TV show she wants to be on, she has to says that she would like to be on “Bachelorette” because the drama and madness in the show is quite accurate compared to what happens in her life.

Even though South Dakota is home to quite a few interesting places, Morgan would love to go to Spain, since she despises South Dakota. She is planning on going to Grand Canyon University and majoring in Biology and Pre-Med. After that, she plans on going to chiropractic school. She hopes to see herself opening a chiropractic office in ten years. But for now, she’s waitressing at Hillside, which has some perks. She says the best thing about it is the 50% employee discount. But when she isn’t at work, she likes watching You on Netflix. She says that it is a watch-worthy show. While she may serve burgers at work, she prefers pasta over anything else. Also, she believes her senior year is like a fajita “because there’s too much going on at the moment.”
