Senior Spotlight: Peyton Bern

Peyton Bern blessed this world with her presence 18 years ago. She lives in Madison with her mother, Amanda; step-dad, Matt; brother, Sutton; half-brother, Evan; and her beloved dogs, Jacks and Winnie. Her family also consists of her father, Rob; step-mom, Jessica; half-sisters, Landry and Leona; and cat, Belle. Some of Peyton’s favorite memories growing up consist of watching older movies with her mom. This is evident as her favorite movies are Pretty Women and Dirty Dancing.

When it comes to Peyton’s passions, they are broken down into two different things. She loves music and the environment. Peyton can be found listening to music and singing songs in her free time. She says music is the one thing she can’t live without. If Peyton could try anything, knowing she wouldn’t fail, she would audition for choir scholarships. She says she would love to attend college outside of the country to experience other styles of music. Her other passion for the environment lends itself to her future plans. Peyton plans to attend SDSU and major in civil and environmental engineering. Her goal is to help with pollution. Ten years from now, she sees herself living on the coast and traveling to help the world receive clean water. Peyton is so passionate about the environment that if she had $5 million she would donate it to help clean the oceans and help make cars environmentally friendly. Peyton’s goal of being able to travel to help the world receive clean water fits perfectly with her love of traveling.

If Peyton could live anywhere for a year, she would live in Greece because she believes that the architecture, views, and culture would be an amazing experience. Peyton says her dream job would be getting paid to travel, and if she could have any superpower, it would be the ability to fly so she could go anywhere she wants. If she had the opportunity to visit any country in the world, she would travel to Italy, New Zealand, and Germany. She feels they would have the most interesting architecture and culture and that they are a must-see. Interestingly, China would be the last place Peyton would visit because, as she puts it, “it’s just too crowded.”

Peyton loves social events and can be found wherever the activities are. She enjoys everything from a relaxed movie night with her family to a raging concert with friends. When she finds out about an event going on, she’s immediately asking friends if they would like to go.

From her large family to wanting to travel the world in search of clean water, this cheesy potato lover is an amazing person. Her smile, can-do attitude, and kind-hearted personality shines bright in her daily life and will set her up for a bright future. If Peyton were to give advice to others it would be, “stay physically active, as it will help keep you emotionally and physically healthy and happy.”
