Senior Spotlight: Tessia Keller

If given five million dollars, Tessia Ann Keller would not spend it on herself but would give it to building orphanages in Africa. Tessia, born April 18th, is now seventeen years old. She was born in Wyoming, but has moved to many different locations since. In fifth grade, she ended up in Madison and has been here ever since. Tessia now lives in Madison with her parents and two younger siblings, Braedon and Ellie. A cartoon character that best describes Tessia would be Tinkerbell because they are both really small, but have a big heart.

During the school year, Tessia keeps herself very busy. She works as a babysitter at the daycare in the Community Center. Tessia also works at Camp Lakodia doing housework. When asked what job she likes the most, she said she likes working at Camp Lakodia because the people she works with make it interesting. She is also a member of the youth group at Living Hope Wesleyan which meets every Wednesday night.

Tessia’s favorite classes are psychology and pre-calculus. She found psychology very interesting, and had a lot of fun people in her pre-calculus class. Tessia’s favorite memory from high school was going to state for the One-Act play during junior year. She said it is her favorite memory because during the hotel stay Lina, and Lily and she all had to try to sleep in one bed. Although it was extremely difficult, they made it work. Tessia’s biggest regret during high school was stressing out so much. She also regrets showing up to school at 7:45 for no reason for the first two years. One thing Tessia learned in high school that she will carry with her, is to not stress out too much because it isn’t worth it. Tessia would recommend underclassmen to try Chick-fil-A sauce because it is really good.

After high school, Tessia plans to go to Wayne State University in Nebraska and get a degree in Elementary Education. She hopes to teach first or second grade because she has spent a lot of time over the years with younger kids, and she thinks they are really fun to be around. In ten years, Tessia hopes to be married, have a job as a teacher, have her own dog, and maybe have children. If Tessia was given the chance to do anything without failure, she would climb Mount Everest because it is something that is extremely hard and most people don’t succeed.

When asked what fellow peers will remember about Tessia, many said her bubbly personality, her short stature, and her big heart. During her high school years, Tessia has been known to be a very caring and sympathetic classmate. She has always been an approachable person who’s willing to listen to whatever anyone had to say. Although Tessia is very short, she has one of the biggest hearts.
