Senior Spotlight: Benjamin Lester

Known for his luscious locks, Benjamin Charles Lester is just one of the many outstanding seniors at Madison High School. He even claims that the one thing he is really great at is growing hair. Although you have a good chance of finding Ben at any MHS event supporting other athletes, his favorite sport to play is baseball. Those who are always in the crowd to support Ben include his dad, Jon; his mother, Catherine; and sister, Josephine. Besides them, Ben is a proud father to three dogs, Bella, Koda, and Nali.

In his free time, Ben works two different jobs. During the summer and fall, he works at a local produce farm. Throughout the rest of the year, Ben works as a C.N.A. at Bethel. His favorite thing about this job is the residents; he loves hearing their stories and making them laugh. When he isn’t working, he enjoys cooking a variety of dishes or watching Survivor. Although he shows a deep passion for the show, he claims he would never be able to win it; “The guys with the long hair never win!” Other favorites of Ben’s include, Grease (1978), his Crocs and Hawaii 5-0. In regards to MHS, he is uncertain as to who his favorite teacher is. The one thing he does know, though, is that Mrs. Gonyo is by far the best English teacher he has ever had.

Benjamin’s future is no doubt bright. He plans on attending Southeast Technical Institute in the fall of 2020. While there, he will be studying Surgical Technology. Although he doesn’t know what the future holds, he knows that the Midwest feels like home, and he would love to stick around the area. All in all, Benjamin Lester is a champion in academics, character, and passion.
