Senior Spotlight: Frank Bulfer

Franklin James Madison Bulfer is a quiet young man whose life has spanned 18 years thus far. Frank was born in the cold month of December with the chilling winds blowing outside the hospital walls. Although Frank is an exceptionally bright child, he hates reading books because he “lacks the patience” to read. He does, however, enjoy movies and TV shows, his favorites are Rick and Morty, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. If he could be a cartoon character he would be Phineas from the Disney cartoon Phineas and Ferb and if he could play any character in a movie he would be Jordan Belfort from Wolf on Wall Street. If he could compete on any reality show it would be a survivor because, as Frank himself concluded, “I think I would win”. His favorite pastime is watching Netflix.

Frank’s family is composed of 5 other people - his parents, and three brothers; William, Thomas, and Joe. Frank’s real talent, however, lies is in the realm of technology. At the age of 16, he built his own computer. He just “figured it out” as he went along. In the end, Frank remembered it as a “really satisfying” accomplishment. Technology isn’t cheap. In order to fund his passion, Frank works at Camp Lakodia. If he had had the money, he’d go to space. If he had $5 million, Frank would donate the money to animal shelters. If he could have any animal as a pet, it would be a Capybara, because “they are adorable and would be fun to play with.'' A capybara if you didn’t know is essentially a giant guinea pig. Capybaras come from the jungles of South America, but although his favorite animal lives down there Frank would rather spend his days in the mountainous state of Colorado “because of the scenery, and it just seems like a great state.” Unfortunately, however, Colorado is far away from his favorite food, crab. Eating all those crab legs makes a fella thirsty, but when someone knocks over a glass of water it creates a chaotic, stressful mess, just like frank’s life this past year. Junior year is a chaotic year for everyone.

As Frank's Senior year progresses, He has some big decisions to make. Where will he go and what will he do next year? According to Mr. Bulfer, he’s “debating between SDSU and DSU, but joining the military is still an option.” Each decision is crucial for his future. No matter what path he takes, Frank will always stay on the path he thinks is best for him and those he cares about.
