Senior Spotlight: Ammon Hawkes

Ammon John Arnell Hawkes is an outstanding 17.33 years old and proudly drives to school every day despite living 2.5 blocks from the school. Ammon is accompanied in his family by his mother Joy, his father Mark, his older sisters Kiana and Emily, his older brother Caleb, and his younger brother, Aaron. Ammon is close and competitive with his family. They compete over things as silly as a game of H.O.R.S.E. to things as serious as their ACT scores. Ammon’s favorite color is royal blue. His favorite snack is goldfish accompanied by a glass of chocolate milk. Ammon’s love for movies is evident in his ability to quote a movie line for every lesson taught by Mr. Cordts. Some of his favorites include Titans, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Braveheart (especially the last scene), and O' Brother Where Art Thou

One of Ammon’s many talents, besides never wearing a shirt, includes, bear crawling. He claims, “I can still scorch the tracks on all fours.” He also claims that if he was given five million dollars he would give it to charity because “I don’t need 5 million dollars.” Though Ammon has many silly attributes, he is a strong, charismatic, generous, smart, witty, man who has a bright future that stretches far beyond high school.

He hopes to attend Brigham Young University for premed, enroll in an ROTC program, and continue to stay active as a pole vaulter for his college. 10 years from now Ammon sees himself as an active duty member in the U.S. Army and hopes to be on his way starting a family. Ammon recommends, “...doing whatever it takes to succeed in everything important.” This quote describes the very nature of Ammon John Arnell Hawkes.
