Avengers: Endgame, a movie review

Avengers fans, it is time to assemble for this incredible event. Avengers: Endgame has just hit theaters and we finally are able to piece together the final chapter of this epic array. Now, I will try to be as descriptive and clear as possible without spoiling the plot of this movie for some of you eleventh-hour movie goers. But honestly, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you really should. You can’t avoid spoilers forever.

Avengers: Endgame picks up where Avengers: Infinity War left off. The world has just suffered the loss of 50% of all living things, thanks to the villainous Thanos’ mercy killings. The remaining Avengers on earth struggle to find a way to reverse the "snap" and bring everyone home for another colossal standoff with Thanos for humanity.

This movie was really an emotional upheaval for many fans watching in anticipation. For me, this movie provided great closure for all of it’s characters. The film had a main focus on the original team of Avengers, including Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. I thought this was a wonderful change considering in Avengers: Infinity War Thanos’ character had the most screen time. Additionally, this movie was a major success in the box office charts. Endgame has passed the $2 billion mark in record time, but still holds only the 74th spot on the list for highest grossing movies of all time.

When compared to Avengers: Infinity War, I would say that Avengers: Endgame exceeded it’s forerunner in several ways, and threw many unforeseen plot twists at the audience that many were not prepared for. Some movie goers were disappointed with the ending that this movie presented, but I would argue that this film was very satisfying and brought many aspects of the MCU full-circle. There have been 22 Marvel movies leading up to this climax and seeing all of the puzzle pieces come together was a great experience. It is truly the end of an era. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will not be the same movie forward, and it is hard to imagine them building up to another film like this one.

I would recommend this movie to literally everyone. Of course, watch Avengers: Infinity War before you watch this, or there is bound to be some confusion. Avengers: Endgame is the pinnacle of Marvel movies to date, and should be experienced by everyone looking for some action.
